From time to time owners come to us when they are ready to sell their boats. As we've always got a list of folks interested in our boats, we can sometimes get the parties together.   WAKAROA - Deerfoot 72

WAKAROA is perhaps the finest example of a shorthanded yacht built in the Deerfoot tradition. Her incredibly tough construction along with permanent fore-and-aft watertight bulkheads, plus an additional two intermediate compartments, give you peace of mind. (The stem is reinforced for collisions with a solid bronze shoe!)

Her joinerwork is of a quality level rarely achieved in the most expensive mega yachts. She has simple, well-thought-out and continuously updated systems for ease of maintenance, and redundancy.

At 72 feet in length she might seem like a big boat for a couple - yet this is what she was designed for from the beginning. WAKAROA was built for a young couple after they had completed a circumnavigation and were beginning to plan a new family. She was a floating home for them for many years and is still being sailed by her original owners (although the kids have now flown the nest).

The interior features a wonderful and huge living area made up of a main saloon/entertainment area, with a very efficient seagoing galley with dinette opposite aft. The owner’s suite is forward, along with a full-width head with tub/shower. Aft are identical double cabins, a large day head, and nav station.

Asking price US$900,000. Wakaroa can be viewed in Auckland, New Zealand.
