Scott Bannerot holds a doctorate in Fisheries Biology from the University of Miami. He has worked as a research scientist, a charter fishing captain and a commercial fisherman since 1976.

Wendy Bannerot has worked as a professional in fishing and commercial diving since 1987. She has also managed a tropical aquaculture company.

Scott and Wendy have been cruising full time since 1995 aboard their 41-foot aluminum sloop, Elan. They have spent the last few years in the South Pacific.
