Storm covers are an integral part of your offshore preparation. These covers protect the hatch edges from direct spray and waves and will keep a marginal hatch watertight into much heavier conditions than might otherwise be the case. We first saw this type of storm cover on Kelly Archer's Mistral. We had these versions made for Sundeer and have used them on all of our boats since. They offer the advantages of a storm cover and spray protector for a cracked hatch in moderate conditions. When it is raining really hard, we find that leaving the cover on under the awnings helps keep the interior dry.
