Dec 1 , 2005 - Suns and Moons Together
by Al & Beth Liggett

SetSail note: The Liggetts recently crossed paths in Malaysia with fellow long-time SetSail reporters George & Merima of Moonshadow. Beth sent us an email about the get-together; George sent the photo.

We are anchored in the Hole in the Wall. George and Merima just came in to the anchorage too. This is FUN! We will get together for sun downers a bit later. So will have a follow up...

Later...It has been great to get to know George and Merima first hand. We went exploring by dinghy together yesterday, up some of the many arms and channels of the Hole in the Wall. Saw the eagles feeding; went through one of the tunnel "caves" enroute. Stopped at Rahmad's fish farm to look at all the creatures he has in his fish pens - horseshoe crabs, lobster, sting rays, grouper, archer fish, puffers, etc. One of Rahmad's sons was our guide to show us the fish tricks.

Yesterday evening we all gathered for cocktails aboard Cap d'Or before going back to the fish farm for dinner. We had seen a family of sea otters early that morning, and they came around the boats again, this time making a command performance right beside Cap d'Or! Had we been quicker with the cameras you would have seen their smiling faces!

As it is, we all took some photos and you may see all of our smiling faces soon.

The crew of Sunflower together with the crew of Moonshadow.

We are going back to Kuah with the tide this afternoon, as is Moonshadow, so we will continue the frivolity for a couple more days at least. Then it looks like the proverbial swinging door as George goes up to Thailand while we stay here, and he comes back just as we go there. George will leave the boat here in Langkawi while he goes to NZ. We will play around these waters, then leave Sunflower at the Hole and go Stateside for a visit about the time he returns!

Gotta run...
Big Hugs, A&B
