| Malaika in Gansbaai, South Africa. |
We are Lynne and Christopher Morgan of Jeffreys Bay, South Africa. As soul mates, our marriage of 13 years and union of 18 has been crammed with adventure and hard work. We went to primary school together and Chris was the 1st boy to kiss me at age 5. Together we are invincible. We have back-packed around the world through South America, Australia, and Europe. Funding all this with 80,000 logged hours Commercial Fishing off the South African East Coast. We have Captain and 1st Mate Grade 4 Commercial Licences (500ton).
We physically
built our own house out of stone, clay, & recycled wood, but sadly
sold it to continue living on MALAIKA, after our mishaps in Colombia
(which we'll write about soon).
MALAIKA,
our 39ft steel cutter--we refitted it in our home port at St. Francis
Bay with recycled wood, hand-me-downs and pass-on's, and painted her
purple with grey trim. It's a PURPLE Thing!
The plan is the circumnavigate on a low budget. This is a work in
progress!
So far...We've sailed from the Indian Ocean, across the South Atlantic Ocean into the Caribbean Sea through the West Indies into the North Atlantic Ocean back across the Caribbean Sea, transiting the Panama Canal and into the Pacific.
