The
Calvin Reports
In
1999 Dan and Karen Neri took time off to go cruising in the West Indies
with kids Matt (12 at the time) and Dani (13). Their boat, Calvin,
is a 38-foot high-performance design from the board of Roger Martin.
Although the Neri family was new to long-term cruising, they had an
extensive background in competitive sailing. Dan is a world-renowned
sail designer, in charge of cruising sail products for North Sails,
and has raced extensively. (He is also the author of the Complete
Guide to Sail Care & Repair, and writes a regular Sail
Advice column for SetSail.) The entire family pitched in with the
articles below; their style of writing offers a blend of humor and hard
information.
